The Yaa Asantewaa Ats Center

Yaa Story When it was founded in 1974, the Centre was simply known as the "Factory", because it is housed in a former taximeter factory. The site was also a temporary morgue for victims of the Blitz in the Second World War.
After the war it had been derelict for many years until local residents persuaded the Westminster Council to purchase the abandoned building and convert it into an Arts and Community Centre. Our history is therefore inextricably linked to the ethos of community.
